About

I’m a middle aged fine scale modeler who started modeling during my teens in the 80s. I’m back at it again for the planes, the amazing new options, the delightful process of making something with your hands, and the rewarding habit of taking time for yourself.

Turn ons: 1:48 scale, F-14s, B-17s, F-104s, MiGs, smooth, crisp paint jobs, enamel & lacquer paints, and starting the next model

Turn offs: Paint that turns gloppy, old decals that fall apart, despite best efforts, kits missing parts, extreme detailing, making tiny seatbelts for cockpits (Why does anyone do this? Did you ever visit the static display of a fighter jet and think, “Goddamn, did you see the seatbelts in that F-4? Took my breath away! Not as exciting as the seatbelts in the SR-71, but pretty cool!”)
